About the course

There’s more to becoming a partner than being technically strong or leading a team well. Partnership brings broader responsibility, greater visibility and, in some firms, financial risk, while also requiring you to think beyond your own workload and consider the success of the business as a whole. Making the transition means developing a clear case for why you are ready, building the right profile and relationships, and showing that you can operate with a genuine owner mindset. This course takes you through the key stages of that transition. You’ll explore what firms typically look for in future partners, how to define your leadership style, strengthen your internal and external visibility, and build a compelling business and personal case. You’ll also develop your client-facing skills, create an effective elevator pitch, learn how to delegate more strategically using the DELEGATE model, and consider how to influence, build consensus and contribute to wider partnership decisions. You’ll come away better prepared for the practical and personal demands of partnership, with a clearer understanding of how to lead at a more strategic level, create value for your firm and present your case with confidence. The course also prepares you for the final promotion panel, helping you communicate your impact, handle challenging questions and show that you are ready to make the step up.
