About Mairéad Hennessy
Mairéad Hennessy founded Taxkey in 2016 as a tax practice that works closely with accountants, solicitors and financial advisors to deliver strategic and proactive tax advice to businesses and their owners.
Mairéad specialises in succession planning for SMEs and their owners, retirement planning, corporate structuring, inheritance tax, property transactions and VAT. Mairéad is a Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA AITI) and Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland (FCA). She holds a Bachelor of Business and Law (BBLS) from UCD and Masters in Accounting (MAcc) from the Michael Smurfit School of Business.
Mairead represents CCAB-I on TALC (indirect taxes), which is the main forum for making representations between the Irish Revenue and practitioners on tax administration in Ireland. The CCAB-I is the Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies of Ireland and is an umbrella group of the Irish accountancy profession. For 2023, she held the role of Chair of Indirect TALC.
She enjoys speaking regularly as a tax specialist at professional training conferences. She is also a frequent contributor of tax technical articles to the CPA’s Accountancy Plus journal and the LexisNexis Tolley Tax Books.
Mairead is currently serving as President of County Kildare Chamber.
