About the course

VAT is a vast subject with its own rules and regulations. While conceptually simple, its many regulations, exceptions, and exceptions to exceptions make it a maze where many get lost.

This course helps you navigate this complex area and comply with VAT regulations. It also provides money-saving solutions for problems you might not even be aware of. It explains when registering for VAT can be beneficial and how both registration and deregistration work. It covers transfers of going concern, government schemes that can ease VAT-related pressures, and VAT implications for property transactions.

Please Note: This course only covers tax in the United Kingdom

26 reviews for VAT: Key Issues

  1. Nicola Kerr

I think the course should look into contracting vat as it has changed over the years.

  2. Ann White

I agree with another reviewer that it is disappointing that there was no reference to reverse charge VAT (domestic and non domestice). It would also have been really helpful to have included explanations of zero rated and no VAT and to explain how the VAT rates affect the VAT return. It would be worth considering offering a VAT course that really does go through the basics and not just covering more specialist areas.

  3. Frances Coffey

Clear and useful but I would have liked some information on reverse charge,

  4. Mark Carter

Concise and a good comprehensive refresher

  5. Gillian Sayer

Really enjoyed this course. It was clear and factual with clear examples.

  6. Irene Awala

    Excellent!

  7. Trevor Hogg

Course is concise, relevant and well presented

  8. Michelle Page

Useful and informative however it would be beneficial if you removed the annoying and distracting music from the video segments; it obscures the sound.

  9. Jack Herbert

    pretty good

  10. David Machin

    Very informative

  11. Ting Su

    Good refreshment course on VAT

  12. Katherine Young

It did not cover Brexit elements too. Otherwise, it was good.

  13. Peter Marshall

It covered all the key areas around VAT with examples of the issues to consider. It helped with the a broader understanding of the rules around VAT.

  14. M Harding

It was helpful but sometimes a big hard to follow

  15. Maria Persson-O’Connor

Great run through of a complex area

  16. John Egan

Very useful. My organisation is partially exempt and also opts to tax on some leases so it is very useful for my understanding of the background and implications. I would have liked a recap of the definitions of exempt, zero and standard rated.

  17. Julie Tannett

Really, really informative. I knew a lot less than I thought I did.

  18. Nicholas Charles

    Good update & review

  19. Elisabeth Knight

Good course, as usual. Would like to cover vat and point of supply with regards to u tubers will look for a course covering that

  20. Ann Shanks

A big subject for a four hour course

  21. Mehmud Nathu

    Great

  22. Javeria Surfraz

    Great overview of VAT.

  23. Edwin Parr

As shown by the spread of answers some of the questions at the end of the modules are a little ambiguous.

  24. Mark Dunthorne

Very useful, coherent and easy to understand with good examples.

  25. Nadina Wallis

  26. Iain Goddard

Very interesting & emphasises that property needs looking @ closely from a VAT point of view
